Alex Mooney Wins Republican Nomination

First-term congressman, Alex X. Mooney has won the Republican nomination easily beating his opponent. Mooney won the district 73 to 27 percent.

Mooney will face Mark Hunt, a Charleston attorney in the general election. Mark Hunt overcame four other opponents in the Democrat primary for a chance to take on Mooney this November.

Alex Mooney declared U.S. Congress winner in GOP W.Va. Primary

Congressman Alex Mooney was declared the Republican primary winner in West Virginia’s 2nd Congressional district.

Congressman Mooney released the following statement: “I want to first thank the Republican voters of the Second Congressional District for placing their trust in me to hold this seat in November. I look forward to running an aggressive, issue-based campaign focused on standing up for West Virginia’s conservative values.”

“Hillary Clinton and her West Virginia Democrat allies are out-of-touch with hardworking West Virginians. I look forward to continuing to fight for conservative values.”



Mooney wins 2nd District nomination

Alex X. Mooney has won the Republican primary for West Virginia’s Second Congressional district in Tuesday night’s primary.



Mooney knocks off primary challenger in House race

Congressman Alex X. Mooney leads Republican House primary challenger by 23,050 late on Tuesday. The Democrat primary is too close to call. Congressman Mooney will face the winner of the Democrat primary this November.
